Zulum applauds NEDC over development master plan

The Executive Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum has said that the Validation of the North-East Stabilisation and Development MasterPlan (NESDMP) is the most powerful action of the commission since its inception.

Governor Zulum made this statement on Thursday in Abuja while commissioning the NESDMP Project.

Speaking on Zulum said he is delighted perhaps on behalf of the people and governors of the North-East states, he congratulate the North-East Development Commission on this important milestone.

Speaking on, the Governor said NEDC has clearly laid the foundation of its specific roles the Commission will Play in rebuilding the region and meanwhile that its has also sets itself to be held accountable by the people of Nigeria and the North-East for delivering of the plans without a clear plan and roadmap, that no meaningful achievement can be made, regardless of meaningful resources made available.

He further stated that the development of the North-East discovery and development region and regional MasterPlan is a greater achievement of the North-East development Commission today, improperly and strategically implemented.

“It will not only complement what the governors are doing in the states by investing in transformational projects, but also serve as a pinpoint for the transformation of division.

“The Eleven (11) pillars of the development master plan compasses all the sectors that need attention of investments to make the region add up for the rest of the country and unleash its potential truly represent our aspirations that come from the consultations with people and the government of our six states.

“In order for the development commission to deliver on its mandate of supporting the recovery and development of the North-East region of Nigeria that has been devastated by Boko Haram insurgency, which is further compounded by climate change.

“Governors of the North-East will continue to support you and give you constructive advice that will help you to do better and develop, deliver and the regions of the tribe and peaceful region, Level of productive economic shifts for enhanced inclusive growth and self sufficiency.

“I’m confident that if we work together or bring our resources together we’ll make the North-East the fastest growing region in Nigeria,” Zulum added.
