Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has invited investors to take advantage of the state’s rich resources and favorable business environment.
He said the state is ready to support both direct and indirect investment in the production and processing of sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock, which are key sectors for economic growth.
Governor Buni was responding to the state’s ranking on the ease of doing business in Nigeria, where Yobe placed 9th out of 36 states.
He said this was a remarkable achievement for a state that has been recovering from a long period of security challenges.
He said: “This demonstrates our commitment to making Yobe state a very business-friendly state.”
He added that the state government has improved security and introduced incentives to attract investors and traders.
He said Yobe State aims to become a leader in trade, commerce, and business in general.
Buni said: “We have built and inaugurated the international cargo airport to enable local and international trade and movements within and outside the country.
“We have also erected modern markets with fireproof facilities to assist and protect the business community.”
He revealed that his administration has been engaging with international traders to showcase and utilize the potential in the production and processing of sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock.
He assured that: “Government will enhance all areas of cooperation for effective and efficient partnerships to boost business activities in the state.
“I want to guarantee you that government will keep providing infrastructure to make Yobe State a business center connecting the North with Sesame seeds, Gum Arabic, and livestock consumer countries.”
