World Bank Recognition Award: Gov Namadi Receives First Position on Transparency and Integrity, Payment of Counterpart Fund for ACReSAL Project

The Jigawa State Agroclimatic Resilience In Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project has received four outstanding awards from the WorldBank-supported project during the recently concluded technical and steering committee meeting held in Abuja on 21st December 2023 at Abuja Continental Hotel.

Presenting the awards to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar Namadi by the Honourable Commissioner of Environment, who doubles as the Chairman of the project steering committee Dr. Nura Ibrahim supported by State Project Coordinator Malam Yahaya Uba, signifies the recognition of the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of the state Project management uniting the implementation of Acresal project.

The project received four awards with 1st position in Transparency and integrity,1st Position in 1.2 Billion counterpart funding,2nd position in Community Interest Groups (CIGs), and 2nd runner in project implementation respectively.

 

The commissioner expresses gratitudeto the Governor for playing a crucial role in endorsing and supporting the project. The recognition of excellence through the awards reinforces the commitment to future projects that aim to make a lasting impact on the community and the state at large he said.

The Governor after receiving the awards commended the effort of the project leadership and implementation units for their unmatched dedication and exceptional services to the state.

Malam Umar Namadi further affirmedthat the goal of every project like Acresal is to Improve the lives of the people, especially in Grassroots communities.

The Government will continue to give the necessary support to ensure more success for Jigawa State, the Governor added.

The event took place at the Jigawa State Government House Council Chamber on Thursday 28th December 2023 and was attended by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Head of Service (HOS) Honourable Commissioners, key stakeholders, project team members, Government officials, Media personnel, and distinguished Guests.

 

Speaking to News Men, shortly after presentation, the Jigawa state Acresal Project Coordinator Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Ubah Kafin Gana, commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi, for his concern and support given to the project particularly the increase of counterpart.

Meanwhile, commended state steering and technical committees members as well as project Stake holders for their dedications, punctuality and integrity which enabling the project in to success, wishing them to keep into tempo, for the smooth success of Acresal and World Bank project for environmetal, Agricultural, water resources and Humanitarian developments in 19 Northern States including FCT Abuja.

Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Ubah, reitrated the determination of Jigawa state Acresal State Management Project Unit SPMU for the success of all ongoing and implementing projects state wide, for the beneficiaries of Jigawa State Community both Urban and Rural dwellers.
