Whirlwind destroys houses, render many homeless in Abia

People of Indigenous Eluama Amaiyi Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government of Abia State, have appealed to the state government for assistance as a whirlwind accompanied by heavy downpour rendered them homeless.

The wind blew off several roofs of their houses and destroyed some properties on Thursday

Also the Ehi-na-Uguru Autonomous Community Primary School was affected which had its roof and parts of the classrooms destroyed by the whirlwind.

According to the Nation, pupils and teachers were forced to go back home.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that the community may be thrown into darkness, as electricity poles have been damaged.

They added that some churches were destroyed during the downpour that lasted for hours.

The victims appealed to the State Government to come to their aide.
