Water scarcity: Nasarawa lawmaker inaugurates borehole, mulls mini dam for constituency

Mr Jacob Ajegina, member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has constructed a borehole in Alizaga ward to tackle water scarcity in the area.

Ajegina, while inauguration the borehole on Monday in Alizaga, also said that plans were underway to construct a mini dam in the constituency to boost irrigation for enhanced food production.

He said that the water project was to ensure that residents of the area had access to clean and portable water for drinking and other domestic uses.

“I am committed to improving the lives of my constituents by addressing critical issues such as access to clean water.

 “The sinking  of this borehole in Alizaga Ward is my effort to ensure that every resident has access to safe and reliable drinking water.

“The idea of the mini dam is also a proactive measure aimed at mitigating the effects of drought and ensure that communitues have access to drinking water even during periods of water scarcity.

“The construction of a mini dam will serve as a vital lifeline for communities grappling with the devastating effects of drought,” he said

The lawmaker reassured the people of sound and quality representation at the state legislature.

He apppealed for the continuous support of his constituents to himself  and Gov. Abdullahi Sule,  in order to  succeed in delivering on their campaign promises. (NAN)
