Urban shelters bolsters Kaduna housing sector with 200 hectare project

A leading real estate developer, Urban Shelter has partnered with Kaduna State to launch a 200-hectare housing project in the New Millennium City to address housing deficit through public-private partnerships.

The launching ceremony which took place in Kaduna on Wednesday, witnessed participation of top government officials, including Governor Uba Sani who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe.

The partnership between the state government and Urban Shelter and the underscores a shared commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for underserved communities.

Urban Shelter has already made significant inroads in Kaduna, developing over 25 hectares in Millennium City’s Phase I and II. The new project builds on this foundation, aiming to enhance the housing landscape in the state by offering more sustainable and affordable housing options.

Governor Uba Sani’s administration has outlined several strategies to support this initiative, including partnerships with local and international investors, a robust social housing scheme, and strengthening the Public Housing Corporation.

These efforts are designed to foster a favorable environment for investment and ensure the success of projects like the one with Urban Shelter.

Urban Shelter’s role is pivotal in this endeavour, not only in terms of development but also in attracting further investment to the state’s housing sector.
