UAE unveils agenda for 2025 agriculture conference

By Abbas Nazil

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has announced the comprehensive agenda for the highly anticipated Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition 2025, to be held from May 28 to 31 at ADNEC Centre Al Ain.

The event, under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE and Deputy Prime Minister, is positioned as a national milestone in advancing agricultural transformation and food security in the country.

The four-day event will feature an extensive programme designed to empower Emirati farmers, promote sustainable practices, and enhance local agricultural production through innovation and collaboration.

The conference will host 75 speakers, over 35 panel discussions, and 35 workshops, including 11 specialised sessions for farmers and 24 for the wider community.

With participation from 22 federal and government entities, more than 60 private businesses including startups, four public universities, and over 1,000 students, the event is set to bring together diverse stakeholders to shape the future of agriculture in the UAE.

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, emphasized the strategic significance of the conference in supporting the UAE’s national food security ecosystem.

Speaking at a press conference in Emirates Towers, Dubai, she highlighted the event’s commitment to strengthening the resilience of Emirati farmers and positioning them at the center of development policies.

“Our food security hinges on well-supported farmers, and we are dedicated to providing them with the resources they need to thrive,” she stated.

A notable highlight of the event will be the launch of the UAE’s first National Agriculture Museum, a permanent institution that traces the history of agriculture in the country, from traditional methods to smart and sustainable innovations.

The museum will feature interactive exhibits, documentary displays, and digital content to engage all age groups and serve as a hub for agricultural education.

The conference is expected to also focus heavily on youth engagement, with the Emirates Youth Council for Agriculture leading efforts to involve young people in policymaking and innovation.

The inclusion of dedicated zones for youth, schools, universities, AgriTech, and government entities across the 20,000 square metre venue underscores the event’s community-centric approach.

Major sponsors include Silal as Diamond Sponsor, FAO as Platinum Sponsor, and Al Ain Farms and Lulu Hypermarket as Gold Sponsors.

According to Dr. Al Dahak, this landmark event seeks to build a robust and sustainable agricultural ecosystem, promote local produce, and create meaningful dialogue between farmers, experts, decision-makers, and the wider community.
