By Nneka Nwogwugwu

Some traders have reacted over demolition of their shops located along Jabi Airport road.

NatureNews gathered that a team of security operatives that carried out the exercise, include members of the Abuja Environmental Protection Nigerian Police Force; Department of State Services (DSS); Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO); Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), among others.

A source lamented that the FCT administration commenced demolition without informing them about it.

The source said, “ We are Nigerians. But what they are doing is not good. They didn’t give us notice before they demolished our shops.

Also reacting is the Chief of Jabi Masalachi village, Yakubu Auta, who spoke to the Guardian: “Some members of the tax force came to warn the people who were blocking the road to the market, and they started evacuation immediately.”

He noted that he was not given notice before the demolition, adding that the authority only informed him during the demolition.
