By Nneka Nwogwugwu

A three-storey building still under construction in Lagos has collapsed on Saturday.

The building is located at Akanbi Crescent in the Yaba area of Lagos State.

The building collapsed into another building beside it, the Punch reports.

According to an eyewitness, a part of the building had collapsed late last year, but the construction did not stop.

Another eyewitness on Lawani Street, a street off the scene of the incident, said that her car was affected last year, when a section of the building collapsed, however, construction continued despite the police being called in.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Response Unit was called to the scene but had yet to arrive.

So far, only a 16-year-old boy and another adult male have come out of the building while there is an unconfirmed number still trapped in the collapsed building.
