Sylva, Kyari, others to interrogate energy transition at NAEC conference

Discussions at the Annual International Conference of the Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria to be led by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mallam Mele Kyari (NAEC)
On Thursday, at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, there will be a conference with the theme “Energy Transition: Shaping the Future of Nigeria’s Energy Industry, An Appraisal of PIA, Evolving Benefits and Challenges.”
Other participants in the discussion include Mr. Gbenga Komolafe, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Wabote, international oil companies, independents, as well as power sector operators, and the regulator.
According to a statement released by the Chairman of the NAEC, Olu Phillips, the conference is an annual event that is attended by industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public in its entirety.
According to him, the purpose of the conference being held this year is to entice global industry players in addition to policymakers.
The Federal Government has designated the years 2021–2031 as “The Decade of Gas.” This provides the government and players in the industry with the opportunity to inform Nigerians and the rest of the world about the benefits that derive from having an economy driven by gas and the transition programmes that are being implemented.
According to what he had to say, “It provides the platform for captains of industry, regulators, lawmakers, and all other stakeholders to meet and deliberate on issues affecting the smooth operation of the energy industry, growth prospects, and opportunities.” “It provides the platform for captains of industry, regulators, lawmakers, and all other stakeholders to meet and deliberate on issues.”
The topic of “Decade of Gas: How NLNG is Advancing the Nation’s Economy Through Effective Gas Utilization” would be the subject of a special spotlight on the industry.
