Subsidy Removal: Explore other Minerals Resources, Senator Adeyemi urge FG

The boys will allow this administration to remove fuel subsidies. Nigeria should diversify its economy by exploring the mineral resources, says Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West district.
Senator Adeyemi made this statement on Tuesday in Abuja while interacting with the Journalist at the national assembly complex.
The senator reiterated that this administration under the leadership of President Tinubu is here to reform the policies, saying that he strongly believes in this administration.
Speaking on the solid minerals in Nigeria, Adeyemi informed of senate commencement of passing a bill for the establishment of national solid mineral development authority, adding that Nigeria has over thirty two solid minerals in large quantities.
He said “In my state, Kogi state, we have 27 solid minerals. Some Nations live on solid minerals. Nigeria should diversify its economy, removing subsidies by putting money into solid minerals and other sectori will boost the economy.
The senator further expressed that the North is richer than the South in terms of solid minerals and the sun, saying Nigeria is ignorant about certain things.
He added that, What makes a great nation is the landmarks, population and the sun, saying that with solar a nation can develop its economy with electricity.
‘The Senate passed a bill for a national solid mineral Development Authority that will be like NNPC, so they’ll be investing in Solid Minerals and we encourage you to invest in solid minerals.
“And that will help us greatly because we have more solid minerals than anybody can imagine, than African countries in Africa that can boost the mineral sources that we have in Nigeria.
“Apart from Democratic Republic of Congo, I don’t know of any other African country that can match Nigeria in terms of solid minerals. And we talked about minerals don’t forget that the sun is part of it.
“So today, if you put up solar panels, you can generate enough power to run the city. There are so many parts of the world today that what they rely on is more solar, renewable energy.
“So there are solar systems, which Nigerians have in abundance. These are some areas we can invest in and we’ll get ourselves together and they’re going to industrialize, and create jobs for people to diversify and to look not to just see crude oil as the main source of revenue. We have more than enough sources to make this country better than it is today.”
