UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Wednesday said the recent flash flooding in South Sudan has been the worst floods ever for decades.
It further said that despite humanitarian efforts in different parts of South Sudan, to control it, flooding and violence keep hitting on people in the country.
A report in May revealed that about 760,000 people were reported to have been affected by flooding in eight of the country’s 10 states – with Jonglei, Unity, and Upper Nile being worst affected.
BBC reported that violence in parts of Western Equatoria State, Warrap State and the oil-producing Unity State continued till late last month.
Civilian casualties, displacement and the disruption of humanitarian services to people in need were reported as a result of the violence.
