By Faridat Salifu

The Sokoto State government has earmarked a budget of ₦6.7 billion for its forthcoming Ramadan feeding program, designed to bolster food security during the holy month.

The initiative includes the distribution of grains and the provision of meals at designated feeding centers.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced this significant financial commitment at the recent inauguration of grain distribution to 18,400 orphans and the destitute throughout the state.

Each recipient is set to receive bags of rice and millet, complemented by a cash stipend of ₦5,000.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, commended the state government for its persistent dedication to the Ramadan feeding initiative.

He affirmed his support for the governor’s efforts to improve living standards and called on well-to-do individuals to show generosity to those less fortunate.
