Smuggling of petrol increases scarcity – NCS

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says, the increased smuggling of petrol through land borders to neighbouring countries such as Republic Benin has worsened petrol scarcity in the country, adding that
the Service will do everything possible to check the smugglers.

Speaking with reporters in Lagos yesterday, the Acting Controller, Federal Operation Unit Zone ‘A’ Lagos, Mr Hussein Ejibunu said the unit seized over 36,000 liters of petrol and other prohibited goods worth over N587million in February.
