By Nneka Nwogwugwu

No fewer than six people were injured while several goods destroyed in a fire incident, which gutted a paint factory at Obosi in Anambra State.

A staff of the factory, Citizens Paints told the Guardian that all the injured persons, who were mostly workers in the factory, were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention but could not ascertain the actual number of casualties.

Another staff said the cause and the actual cost of the losses could not be ascertained, lamenting that looters cashed in on the fire incident to steal phones and other valuables found inside the compound during the raging inferno.

He said: “We have asked the workers to go home for the day and report for normal duty the next day.

“The inferno would not stop production since it was only one warehouse that was burnt before the arrival of the state fire service, who extinguished the fire before it could extend to other warehouses.”

He prayed for the survival of the victims of the fire incident, who were rushed to the hospital.
