Sedentary Lifestyle and Repercussion among Demographies

PREAMBLE
The issue of sedentary lifestyle is such a one that manifest atimes without people knowing. To many, it is just like the normal daily routine; which in the long run impacts on health, wholeness and productivity.

Out of ignorance, people unconsciously observe some certain routines that are inimical, unfriendly to their personal protocols given the various age groups. Atimes, people hide under the fact of “I have always been like this for long, my body is used to it… it is just my normal way of life”. Not bearing the fact that as one advances in age, energy, vitality and consequently productivity has the tendencies to decline even when one has the best of medicals around. As long as your begin to age; personal energy levels drop over time

The need for people to seek professional help in order to ensure that they do things within their current energy regimes cannot be over emphasized. Many today slip into sedentary lifestyle even while still in active service within working demographics. So the question of sedentary lifestyle in the 21st century existence (as the pandemic) has moved momentarily from just being an issue with the senior citizens and the retirees only; even children, the youths, adolescent, adults and the aged are all in the saddle. So how then do we view sedentary living?

As long as you can see the major characteristic of sedentary lifestyle happening irrespective of your age group, then you should be ready to settle for the consequence. So on a very vital note, know what sedentary is to you, as a child, youth, adolescent, adult or as an aged and begin to prepare to walk away from it today. Prevention is better than cure.

What is in this write- up is to call everyone to responsible living. Hey! don’t allow for sedentary living in any way.It has no regard for the poor, the rich, the affluent or the ignorant or the one who deliberately ignore. If you don’t play now, you will definitely pay for it later. If you don’t play your role now and walk away from sedentary, you will pay later through the curative appeal. The curative could be costly and exhaustive, takes away time and resources … So the need for all demographics to wade into uncanny lifestyle entrying into the glare of sedentary lifestyle.

In behavioral health, consequences over violations do not easily show up. It creeps over time within before the eventual manifestation without. The law of cause and effect still hold sway. Many people out there have thrown caution into the wind without knowing and reckoning with the dynamism in the world. Some will say, I am already used to this… until suddenly they break down and attract a negative consequence.
Effects of sedentary lifestyle in children;
Children could go into sedentary, a child may be 7-12 are into sedentary living, they become bored, run around too much or less within a small scope, keeping around to the same kinds of routine. A routine which introduces perhaps, the issue of boredom, they become easily tired. A sedentary lifestyle in children can lead to a domino effect of bad behavior in future, children who sit for longer also take snacks often especially the unhealthy stuff. This is directly related to weight gain and obesity. Children who also dont get enough exercise tend to snap or get irritated easily. It could also lead to mood disturbances.

Effects of sedentary lifestyle on teenagers.
Sedentary behavior during adolescence is a marker of depression. It can also impair the healthy growth and development of teenagers and have the negative impact in their health and fitness. It could also place teenagers at risk of poor, physical, social, intellectual, emotional and mental health outcomes in adulthood. As the sedentary and the physically inactive teenagers move into adulthood, they may place themselves at the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, risk of becoming overweight.

Effects of sedentary lifestyle in adults.
One of the effects of sedentary lifestyle in adulthood is that it can contribute to anxiety, cardiovascular diseases, and migraines and sometimes even sudden death.
Other effects on adult includes; immune system may not work well, poor blood circulation, body may have more inflammation, bones may get weaker and lose some mineral content.

Effects on Aged.
As we age, so do our cells. As cells make up every organ in our body, however the rate at which our cells die varies from one person to person. Lifestyle factors such as alcohol consumption, smoking can influence the progression of circular aging.

Sedentary behavior is very prevalent in older adults.
Other effects on aged include impairment in physical and cognitive function, poor mental health and problems with sleep.

Effects of sedentary lifestyle on the working class.
When it comes to work related sedentary time particularly, working adults have shown from recent research to spend 9hrs per day sitting on workdays. Public health policies underline the urgent need to create a suitable culture of regular physical activity and
Interventions to improve work activity, rather than sitting down for too long hours. Workplace interventions have to be conducted to favor healthy active living among tertiary employees, the sedentary nature of professional activities must be considered.
Whichever way, know what to do and do what you know for the best of the outcomes. Remember, nature is friendly and always working for your wholeness and productivity. African shall be saved and Nigeria has a greater future….To be continued..
