Nigeria’s energy sector has received a significant boost as Russia becomes actively involved in 30 new power projects across the country.
With a total capacity of about 3.7 gigawatts, these projects promise to revolutionize Nigeria’s electricity generation capabilities.
President Vladimir Putin revealed this crucial partnership during the Russia-Africa Summit and Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum in St. Petersburg, held 27- 28 July.
Russian companies like RusHydro are playing a pivotal role, offering various services from design and equipment supply to the construction of new power-generating facilities.
Moreover, Russia’s influence extends beyond power projects, as companies like Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, and Zarubezhneft are involved in oil and gas field development in Nigeria and other African countries.
