Rite Foods Limited has distributed bottled water to over 3,000 essential workers across Lagos as part of activities marking World Water Day.
The outreach targeted workers exposed to long hours under the sun, including sanitation personnel, traffic officials, street vendors, transport operators, and security officers, with water distributed at about 12 high-traffic locations across the city.
The company said the initiative aligns with the 2026 theme, “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows,” and was designed to highlight access to clean water as essential for health, dignity, and inclusion, particularly for underserved groups.
According to Dennis Aideloje, the campaign reflects the company’s commitment to making practical impact beyond awareness.
He noted that providing clean drinking water can help restore energy, promote inclusion, and show recognition for the contributions of essential workers.
Special focus was given to women in public service roles, acknowledging their often overlooked contributions to the functioning of the city.
Rite Foods stated that the initiative builds on previous editions and aims to expand similar outreach programmes to other parts of the country, as part of broader efforts to promote community well-being and social inclusion.
