Panasonic achieves double “A” ratings in CDP 2025 rankings
By Abbas Nazil
Panasonic Holdings Corporation (Panasonic HD) has been named an A-list company by CDP, the international non-profit organization, achieving the highest rating in both climate change and water security categories for 2025.
This marks Panasonic HD’s fourth consecutive year earning an A-list ranking in the climate change category, reflecting its sustained commitment to addressing global climate challenges through ambitious and strategic initiatives.
In the water security category, which evaluates corporate efforts in conserving and managing water resources, Panasonic HD achieved an A rating for the first time since it began participating in CDP surveys in 2010.
The company was recognized for implementing water resource risk assessments using the LEAP approach recommended by the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), underscoring its commitment to responsible water management and conservation practices.
In 2024, 462 companies worldwide—representing approximately 2 percent of all companies evaluated—made the A list in the climate change category, while only 78 achieved the distinction of double “A” ratings in both climate change and water security.
Panasonic HD is among this elite group in 2025, highlighting its leadership in environmental responsibility and corporate sustainability.
CDP is widely acknowledged as the global standard for corporate environmental reporting, with its ratings used to guide investment and procurement decisions toward net-zero and sustainable economic outcomes.
By earning an A rating in both categories, Panasonic HD demonstrates that it treats climate change and water resource management as critical corporate priorities, effectively managing governance, strategy, risk, metrics, and targets in line with the frameworks of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and TNFD.
The company’s recognition also reflects its transparent disclosure of environmental data, its ambitious emission reduction activities, and the certification of its Net Zero Target by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Panasonic HD’s environmental vision, branded under “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT,” aims to achieve near net-zero CO2 emissions from its operations by 2030 while contributing to the reduction and avoidance of more than 300 million tons of CO2 globally by 2050, equivalent to roughly 1 percent of total current energy-related global emissions.
The company is also advancing a circular economy through sustainable resource management, decarbonization strategies, and reduction of natural resource consumption.
With this recognition, Panasonic reinforces its commitment to ensuring future generations inherit a healthy environment, continuing to address global environmental challenges while maintaining transparent reporting and promoting sustainable practices across its operations.
The company’s achievements in CDP 2025 reflect a unified effort across the Panasonic Group to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship, demonstrating leadership in corporate sustainability at a global level.
