Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has expressed the ministry’s readiness to partner with Mainbridge and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to embark on Digital Marine projects that will tackle maritime challenges in the country.
The Minister, who hosted the Management of the two companies in Abuja on Wednesday, highlighted the challenges in Nigeria maritime sector to include piracy and revenue leakages.
Oyetola, in a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday said discussions during the meeting specifically centred on the Electronic Maritime Administration and Revenue Assurance Project (EMARAP).

He noted that the meeting also highlighted investments in key areas like port management and fisheries for development of Nigeria’s economy.
“I received management of Mainbridge and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, we discussed the Digital Marine Project, specifically the Electronic Maritime Administration and Revenue Assurance Project (EMARAP).
“This initiative targets crucial maritime challenges in Nigeria, such as piracy and revenue leakages. Mainbridge, known for its expertise in Africa’s infrastructure development, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, a prominent global investment company, highlighted key areas like port management and fisheries for development.
“I reiterated our readiness for partnership, underscoring the project’s potential to propel the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy forward. Joining us during our discussions were Dr. Dayo Mobereola, DG of NIMASA, Dr. Charles Akinola, and Prof. Busayo Fakinlede,” he stated.
