Kogi State governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, is attending the 2025 Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank (AFDB) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as a Special Guest, where he is pursuing strategic financing for key sectors of the state’s economy.
Governor Ododo is engaging AFDB leadership to secure targeted investments in agriculture, solid minerals, and transportation infrastructure.
His proposals include support through specialized facilities such as the Africa Legal Support Facility for mining governance, the Special Agricultural Processing Zones Facility for agro-industrial development, and the Infrastructure Facility Fund for key transport projects, including a proposed airport.
These discussions mark a significant step in Kogi’s efforts to deepen ties with global financial institutions and unlock development funding.
Joint technical teams from the state and AFDB are working to align project concepts with funding frameworks to ensure swift execution.
Ododo is accompanied by senior state officials, including the Chief Economic Adviser, the Finance Commissioner, the Auditor General, and other top advisors and consultants, signaling the state’s preparedness for serious investment partnerships.
Through these engagements, Governor Ododo aims to advance his administration’s Renewed Hope agenda by driving inclusive growth and transforming Kogi’s economic landscape with bankable, high-impact projects.
