Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, H.E. Obong Victor Attah, recipient of the lifetime achievement Award for sustainable environment, delivered a poignant speech on behalf of the award recipients, emphasizing the critical need to prioritize environmental conservation efforts.
Attah issued a compelling call to action, urging both individuals and governments to forge stronger connections and direct their focus towards environmental protection.
He highlighted the alarming levels of pollution in Port Harcourt, painting a vivid picture of green leaves on trees morphing into a dismal black hue due to pollution from refineries.
Lamenting the pervasive disregard for the Earth’s well-being, Attah cited the ongoing pollution crisis in Ogoniland despite promises of cleanup efforts.
