State Chairman of the association, Mr Orie Thomas-Eze, who gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki on Thursday, said that the association had carried awareness campaign across motor parks to educate members on the need for regular hand washing, social distancing and the use of facemask.

On maintaining safer road during and after the Yuletide, the chairman cautioned drivers against reckless driving, overloading, among others.

According to Thomas-Eze, obeying traffic rules and regulations is necessary in order to stay alive and enjoy the celebration now and after.

“As you go about your normal businesses during this Christmas and after, avoid the intake of alcohol and any forms of drugs while driving. “Avoid dangerous over-taking and always remember that life has no duplicate. Keep genuine driver’s licence and promote safer roads for the people,” the chairman advised.
