Mustard seeds are gotten from mustard plant, an annual plant with over forty different varieties. The three most popular varieties are the Black, Brown and White Mustards and basically used for their culinary purposes. The three variaties differs in taste and pungency.
The various parts of the Mustard plant like the seeds, flowers and leaves are edible and healthful. Mustard seed had been used as spices and is mainly grown in temperate regions of the world.
Mustard seed as a spice, can be used in the form of a seed, dry powder mixed with water for flavour and can be prepared to form paste and combined with other spices and herbs.
