NPA Hosts Breakfast Meeting On Ports Efficiency
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), is set to host a breakfast meeting on the Electronic Call-up System, otherwise known as Eto.
The Breakfast meeting which is being organised by the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), will examine the challenges hindering the efficiency of the Electronic Call System (Eto) and proffer solutions.
We gathered that the event, which is scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 7, will have the operators of the various truck holding bays licensed by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) as well as the Export Processing Terminals (EPT) in participation.
It was further gathered that Nigerian Shippers Council, Trucks Transit Parks (TTP) and other notable associations in the nation’s seaports have also indicated interests to participate in the event.
Other participants are Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN), Lagos State Cargo and Transport Committee (LASTCOC) National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) Nexus Association of Maritime Transport Operators (NAMTOP) Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) among others.
President of MARAN, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, was quoted as saying that everything has been put in place to ensure success of the event and enjoined port stakeholders to be part of the event.
He noted that MARAN as a critical stakeholders in maritime industry would not relent in championing ideas that will lead to the growth of the industry.
