Notore, Eroton sign 20yrs partnership on gas supply for fertilizer production
Notore Chemicals Industries Plc and Eroton Exploration and Production have entered into a 20 years partnership on the supply of 4trillion standard cubic feet of gas, for the production of fertilizers.
Notore’s General Manager, Operations, David Ighodalo, who spoke recently while receiving the Managing Director of OGFZA, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, on his familiarisation tour of the oil and gas free zones, explained Notore’s five-year development plan of the zone which is currently in its third stage (50percent) as well as the challenges facing them.
“Notore, in partnership with Eroton on a 20-year gas supply agreement, has the capacity of an excess of 4trillionscf gas supply from which fertilizer is produced.”
According to him, Notore consists of the fertilizer plant and industrial area, jetty channel to the Onne zeaport, gas plant, internal access roads, office and residential structures which other companies in the zone also used.
He also reported that Afremetal, a battery recycling company, was the first entrant into the Notore free zone through OGFZA, while also listing other enterprises such as Saima, Hyde, etc operating in the Notore free zone.
Responding, the Managing Director of OGFZA, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, who took cognizance of their challenges, pledged to appeal to the Federal Government for intervention to rehabilitate the Eleme section of the East-West Road, in order to help businesses in the Free Zone.
Kaur also expressed OGFZA’s willingness to collaborate with the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Ministry of Works and the Nigerian Ports Authority in a joint effort to fix the road as soon as possible.
