The Governor of Katsina State and Chairman of the North West Governors Forum, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has led a delegation of North-West governors to meet with President Bola Tinubu to discuss pressing issues related to insecurity, agriculture, and various national concerns.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa and included the participation of governors from Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States.
According to a statement released by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina State Governor, the primary focus of the meeting was to address the escalating security challenges in the region, particularly the activities of bandits.
The governors shared the measures they have been implementing to enhance security and stressed the crucial need for improved safety measures to ensure farmers have unhampered access to farmlands.

President Tinubu expressed his commitment to working closely with the governors and pledged his support to improve security in the region.
He reiterated that agriculture remains a top priority for his administration, and he will spare no effort in ensuring the nation achieves self-sufficiency in food production.
In addition to security and agriculture, Tinubu also addressed another pressing issue—the impact of fuel subsidy removal. He stated his determination to collaborate with the governors in providing assistance and palliatives to alleviate the burden on the local population.
Governor Radda expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, describing it as productive, engaging, and focused on the crucial areas of security, agriculture, and other national matters. The discussions held during the meeting reflected the collective determination to tackle these challenges and work towards sustainable solutions.
