NiMet Warns Of Windstorm As Rainfall Approaches

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued its latest weather outlook for Sunday through Tuesday, warning of strong winds preceding rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur.
In a statement released on Saturday, NiMet highlighted the weather forecast for different regions of the country:
The Northern region is expected to experience patches of clouds with intervals of sunshine, transitioning to sunny skies with clouds by Monday and Tuesday. Thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of Taraba and Kaduna States during this period.
The North Central region will see cloudy skies with spells of sunshine in the mornings and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings across states like Nasarawa, Niger, and the Federal Capital Territory.
In the Southern region, mostly cloudy conditions are forecasted with morning thunderstorms expected across various states such as Ondo, Ogun, Edo, and Lagos.
Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected in multiple states including Imo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa.
NiMet advised the public to take precautionary measures during this period. Additionally, airline operators were urged to stay updated with NiMet’s weather reports for effective operational planning.
