NiMet Forecasts 3-days Varied Weather Patterns across different regions

In a recent weather outlook, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has provided an intricate forecast of cloudiness, sunshine, and potential thunderstorms set to sweep across different regions of the country from Monday to Wednesday.

As Nigerians brace themselves for the coming week, NiMet’s detailed predictions offer a crucial guide for both individuals and businesses, emphasizing the importance of staying informed and prepared amid the fluctuating weather patterns.

From intermittent rains in the South to thunderstorms in the North, the agency’s comprehensive report calls for vigilance and caution during the rainy season to mitigate potential risks and ensure safety.

NiMet’s weather forecast for Monday to Wednesday is as follows:
Monday: Cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine in the northern region, morning thunderstorms possible in parts of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Katsina, and Yobe states.

Thunderstorms also expected in other northern states later in the day. Cloudy atmosphere in the North central region with morning rains in some areas, and later, thunderstorms with intermittent rains throughout the region.

In the South, cloudy atmosphere with morning rains in some inland states and coastal cities. Later in the day, thunderstorms with intermittent rains expected in the entire South.

Tuesday: Morning thunderstorms possible in parts of Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, and Yobe states in the northern region. Later in the day, cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over the entire region. North central region may experience morning rains in some areas and afternoon/evening thunderstorms with intermittent rains in others.

In the South, cloudy skies with sunshine intervals in the morning and rains in coastal cities. Later in the day, intermittent rains are expected in the entire South.

Wednesday: Cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine in the northern region.

Thunderstorms possible in parts of Jigawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, and Adamawa states later in the day. North central region may have cloudy skies with sunshine intervals, and chances of afternoon/evening thunderstorms/rains in some areas.

In the South, cloudy skies in the morning with rains in the coastal cities. Later in the day, intermittent rains are expected throughout the region.

NiMet advises Airline operators to regularly check weather reports/alerts for effective planning.

The public is urged to take necessary precautions, avoid driving and walking through floodwaters, as moderate to heavy rainfall may cause flash floods during the rainy season.
