Nigerian scientists begin community tree recovery campaign

Nigerian scientists has embarked on Community Tree Recovery campaigns to reduce desertification and ecological challenges.

A science climatologist and the director African climate reporters, Nurudden Bello said that the aims of raising more awareness to the general public on planting more trees during this year raining seasons.

He mentioned that, many forestry has gone extinctions due to human irrational activities which include timber Demand, cutting down of tress for firewood and charcoal business.

Nurudden while speaking in Kaduna emphasized on the importance of planting trees to combat desertification, climate change , deforestation and environmental degradation.

He added that, wind storm, fload, river Bank erosion, guilly erosion, and other dangerous ecological challenges affecting many communities across the region.

He said the team of volunteers scientists, environmentalist and other scientists working with African climate reporters has launch the Community Tree Recovery campaign in kaduna ,and it’s was aimed at encouraging residence on planting more trees in their community to protect the environment against disasters and environmental degradation.

While noted that the community tree recovery was created out of the great need for trees in the wake of natural disasters, flood, environmental and other ecological challenges.

Adding that they send a signals to all scientists across to embark on ceaseless campaign at both rural and urban centers, so as to encourage citizens to plant tree’s at home, farm, market, car park station.

While stressing that Replanting trees after a tragedy helps survivors to look to the future, a reminder to be hopeful. “Trees bring beauty, healing, and hope to areas in most need” He stated.
