NEMA distributes relief items to fire victims in Sokoto, Zamfara

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has stepped in to alleviate the suffering of affected victims of fire incidents in Gusau and Sokoto by providing them assorted food items.

The initiative is meant tob restore livelihoods, showcases the federal government’s commitment to supporting those impacted by these unfortunate incidents.

Distribution exercise was conducted in Sokoto State by Mr. Aminu Ambursa, the Head of the Search and Rescue Unit of the agency.

ln Zamfara, NEMA’s Sokoto Operations Office head, Mr. Aliyu Shehu-Kafindangi led the distribution on behalf of NEMA’s Director-General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar.
Kafindagi expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made this relief operation possible.

He noted that the partnership between Zamfara Ministry of Humanitarian & Relief Matters and the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency enable the distribution to be successful.

“The federal government is committed to supporting the victims to help them rebuild their lives,” Shehu-Kafindangi stated, emphasizing NEMA’s role in providing necessary assistance to communities affected by disasters.

Both teams worked diligently to ensure that the victims received the support which offered them hope during a challenging time.

Beneficiaries of the aid noted that the relief effort serves as a reminder of the importance of swift governmental response to emergencies and the collective responsibility to support those in need within the larger society.
