NDLEA raid drug cartels In North, intercept 843kg of drugs

No fewer than 843 kilograms of cocaine was intercepted by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), along side with seven drug kingpins was arrested separately in Benue, Kogi and Nasarawa states.

A statement by Femi Babafemi, NDLEA media director, said in a bid to evade officers in Kogi, a cartel led by Augustine Emmanuel, 45, opted to move its consignments through the waterways between Edo and Kogi. Daily post reports

In Nasarawa state, the NDLEA raided one of the most hostile drug joints in Keffi, the state capital. About 356kg of cannabis and various psychotropic substances were recovered.

Four dealers were arrested including the most notorious drug kingpin in Nasarawa, “Boogie” real name Muhammed Umar.

Babafemi disclosed that his drug distribution tentacles cut across Kano, Plateau, Benue and parts of Abuja.

“Another consignments of cocaine was intercepted in Benue on 8th, 9th and 13th July.

“John Aondosoo was picked last Thursday in Makurdi with 28.6grams of crack with his supplier having another 29.17grams of crack cocaine.

“In another raid, the Benue command also seized cocaine.”

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) commended the commanders and officers who took part in the operations and charged them not to relent.
