The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chanja Datti Limited, a waste collection and recycling company, Funto Boroffice was recognised and honoured with a Media Award for her outstanding contribution to climate action by NatureNews.
Boroffice emerged the winner elected among a pool of nominees from across Nigeria and Africa for her innovative and scalable solution to the plastic waste and unemployment crisis in Sub Saharan Africa.
The award organisers noted that her company transforms waste into value and creates jobs for women and youth, while reducing environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
She is also a leader in the circular economy and a role model for social entrepreneurship. Ms Boroffice is a Nigerian woman entrepreneur who is passionate about solving the plastic waste and unemployment problems in her country.
