The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is set to launch its ‘Irrigate Nigeria’ project in Gamawa Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
Irrigate Nigeria is a pivotal initiative aimed at revolutionizing the nation’s agricultural sector.
The project is to introduce advanced irrigation technologies, including precision and solar irrigation systems, to both small and large-scale farms, enabling farmers to achieve multiple harvests annually and combat food scarcity.
This initiative, which focuses on enhancing mechanized farming, aims to transform Nigeria’s agricultural practices and boost productivity.
In preparation for the official launch, a federal government delegation, led by Halilu, met with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
The project is expected to usher in a sustainable agricultural revolution, empowering local communities with modern infrastructure and fostering economic diversification through enhanced agricultural output.
NASENI’s initiative is designed to provide farmers with the necessary tools and technologies to modernize their practices and contribute significantly to national food security.
