Management, Staff, Farewell To Outgoing Water Minister

Management and Staff of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, its agencies, development partners and stakeholders in the water sector have said farewell wishes to the Minister Engr Suleiman H. Adamu on his high levels of performance in the water sectors.
The ministry organized a dinner in honour of the outgoing Water Resources Minister, which was held in Abuja.
Speaking at the dinner, Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation described the minister as committed, intelligent and knowledgeable in many fields, not only in engineering but also in his passion towards change and Sustainable Development that made the Federal Executive Council (FEC), prioritize action on the water and sanitation sector.
The occasion was witnessed by eminent personalities including the Head of Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan, Royal Fathers like the Emir of Kazuare and the elder brother of the Honourable Minister, His Royal Highness Najib Hussein Adamu and the Amanayambo of Toun- Brass His Royal Highness Alfred Diete Spiff, Senior Government Officials, Management and Staff of the Ministry, Stakeholders and Development Partners, Contractors, family members and other well wishers too numerous to mention
The Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack stated that the Honourable Minister came to the Ministry with focus and clear vision full of commitment and determination to succeed in the water sector.
Didi Walson-Jack highlighted Values and Principles, Drive and Commitment as well as punctuality as the unprecedented attributes of the Honourable Minister that has helped him to transform the water sector to an enviable position it is today.
According to the Permanent Secretary, numerous initiatives championed by Engr. Adamu, his Charisma, private sector’s experience and educational background spurred him in his duties to succeed as a 2- term Honourable Minister of Water Resources.
She stressed that Adamu indeed had laid a solid foundation suitable for the Ministry to build on.
Goodwill messages was presented by Eminent Nigerians and foreign Development Partners including ; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr Boss Mustapha, Legislators led by the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Honourable Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Chairman Ministerial Policy Advisory Committee,CEOs of World Toilet Summit, Sanitation and Water for All, USA, and the Executive Director Sanitation and Hygiene Fund Geneva, Former Head of Service and WASH Ambassador Serving and past Permanent Secretaries, Serving and retired Directors of the Ministry, Managing Directors, Executive Directors and DGs of the Ministry’s Agencies and contractors of the Ministry.
The Water Minister was also applauded and appreciated for his numerous contributions to the growth of the water sector since he assumed office over 7 years ago by dignitaries, family members, friends and well wishers present at the dinner as a core professional with a clear cut strategy for the Water Sector.
The Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr, Suleiman H. Adamu in an emotion-laden mood in his response appreciated the kind gesture of the dignitaries, the Development Partners, his family members,the entire staffers of the Ministry and everyone that graced the occasion for the wonderful show of love in organizing such an event to honour him.
He stressed that on assumption of duty as Minister of Water Resources in the Ministry in 2015, he made it clear that he was out to do his job professionally and in the course of doing that, was not prepared to bend the rules in getting things done.
“On assumption of duty, I told the Directors that I am not one of those quintessential Politicians who will want to become Senator, Governor and even as President after office and so I will do my job professionally”, he said.
He charged the next Water Resources Minister to take the Water Sector to the next level.
