Man sneaks 104 live snakes from Hong Kong to China in his trousers

A young man whose name and nationality was not disclosed by the Chinese Custom authorities had attempted smuggling over 100 live snakes concealed in his trousers into China.
The wildlife trafficker was stopped by the Chinese Custom officials while trying to cross the borderthrough the non-declaration lane at Futian Port Control Point in Futian District, Shenzen, China – a border crossing between Hong Kong and Mainland China.
On personal examination of the suspicios looking man, the Port authorities discovered six plastic bags crammed into his trouser’s pockets, each filled with a dozens of live snakes.
”Upon inspection, customs officers iscovered that the pockets of his trousers were packed with six canvas drawstring bags nd seled with tape, ” the official statement said.
According to the statement, the total tally after thorough search of the man indicated that there were a total of 104 reptiles conceled within his trousers, border officers reported.
According to the officials, five types of snakes were recovered from the illegal haul. They are the Milk snake, Western Hognose snakes, Corn Snakes, Texas Rat snakes, and Bull snakes. Four of these tyoes are not indigenous to China, hence prohibited from importation into the country withour proper documentation.
