Lightning strikes kill cows in Delta community

Over twelve cows have been reportedly killed following a lightning strike in Urhodo-Ovu community of Ethiope East local government area of Delta State.

A source who disclosed to the Nation, said the hersdmen were seated close to the cows while others were taken to another area of the bush for grazing when the lightning struck over twelve of the cows.

The source had explained that the lightning struck the cows after a brief rain, adding that not quite few minutes that the cows dropped dead that their stomach got swollen.

According to the source, a the day before the incident, the farm owners had at several times warned the herders to stop taking their cows to their cassava farm but they didn’t listen until the ugly incident happened.

The villagers, who believed that the cows died as a result of black power, added that the incident will serve as a warning to the herders to stay off their farms.
