Leventis foundation opens applications for fully funded agricultural training program 2025

By Abbas Nazil

The Leventis Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its fully funded Agricultural Training Program for 2025.

Aimed at young men and women with a passion for farming and agribusiness, the one-year program offers an exceptional opportunity for participants to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in modern and sustainable agriculture.

This program is designed to prepare the next generation of farmers who will play a pivotal role in transforming Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.

The program, which is entirely free of charge, covers tuition, accommodation, and feeding. It is open to both male and female applicants aged between 18 and 40 years.

Participants will be trained across six agricultural schools strategically located in Nigeria’s diverse agro-ecological zones, including the Federal Capital Territory, Osun, Kano, and Gombe states.

These schools have been at the forefront of agricultural training since the program’s inception in 1987.

Applicants must be physically fit and able to read and write in English, with a minimum secondary school leaving certificate.

Candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in agriculture, and those with a farming background will be given preference.

To ensure the right candidates are selected, both written and oral tests will be conducted before the final selection.

The one-year training program will provide extensive exposure to various aspects of farming and agribusiness, preparing participants for successful careers in agriculture.

Graduates will be equipped to contribute meaningfully to the country’s agricultural sector, particularly in rural communities where such skills are in high demand.

The deadline for application submission is February 21, 2025. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the Leventis Foundation website at https://leventisfoundation.org.ng/application-for-admission-to-a-one-year-training-programme-in-modernand-sustainable-agriculture-2025-session/.
