LAWMA, LASPARK recycle waste into beautiful Christmas trees

Waste bottles and worn tyres were recycled into a beautiful Christmas trees to beautify the environment in Lagos State.

The Christmas trees that was made from garbages was done by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Lagos State Park and Gardens Agency (LASPARK).

Speaking with News Agency of Nigeria, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni said the initiative is a demonstration of the creative use of waste materials to beautify the environment.

He also said Private Sector Participation operators have been engaged to provide quality services to residents on waste management during the yuletide and the new year.

He therefore advice Lagos residents to bag, box, or put their waste in containers and to shun illegal disposal of waste in undesignated locations

Improper disposing of waste poses unpleasant effect on environment, humans as well as animals

The eco-trees were stationed at the Johnson-Jakande-Tinubu (JJT) park at the Alausa Secretariat, the LAWMA Head
Office garden in Ijora; 7UP Bus Stop at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and Allen Avenue traffic intersection, Ikeja.
