The minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, has stated that the recent launch of environment based magazine, ClimateAfrica is timely and appropriate at the moment where the world is concerned about the environment.
Adamu said this on Tuesday at the launch of ClimateAfrica magazine and first anniversary lecture of NatureNews Africa.
He hailed the publisher/Editor-in-Chief of NatureNews Africa and ClimateAfrica magazine, Alhaji Aliu Akoshile for birthing the idea.
Speaking in an interview with NatureNews, he said, “I just came back from COP26 in Glasgow where discussions concerning climate change were made.
“Climate change and the environment is a serious issue. Nothing will work if the environment is not conducive and I’m very happy that the publisher have taken a niche that is an important issue at large.
“We that is in the water sector are part of the environment and that buttresses why I am here. The first impact we hear about climate change is rain, flooding and among others. These are the most impactful things and that is why it is important for us to be here and identify with the publisher.”
He prayed for more success and achievements for the organisation.
Akoshile in his remarks, noted that NatureNews and ClimateAfrica will be deployed to reporting the environment and to amplify creative solutions for making the environment habitable for human being, animals and plants.
