LASEPA Urges farm owners to protect their Environment

Petroleum tank farms in the Apapa and other area of Lagos state has been called upon to comply with the environmental safety rules set out by the state government.

This call was contained in a statement released by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) recently.

Based on the statement provided, a delegation from LASEPA visited key petroleum tank farms in Kirikiri Town, Apapa, Fatgbems Petroleum Company Limited, Bovas & Company Ltd, and TechnOil Limited amongs others recently during which critical environmental issues were deliberated on.

It reads: “The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between LASEPA and the tank farms, discussing critical environmental issues and emphasising compliance with Lagos State government standards.

“The delegation urged submission of Environmental Impact Assessments and water separator samples; they also highlighted the agency’s commitment to safety and public health through regular inspections.

“LASEPA, being an environmental protection agency, motivates tank farm owners to adhere to regulations with the assurance of the agency’s available top-tier laboratory for scientific analyses” it concluded.
