Lagos State Governor, BabajideSanwo-Olu, has announced the appointment of Dr.MuyiwaGbadegesin as the new Managing Director of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The appointment was communicated through an internal memo signed by T.A. Dosunmu and addressed to the agency’s staff.
The memo requested all staff members to extend their usual cooperation to Gbadegesin in his new role. It stated, “I wish to refer to the above subject matter and to convey the appointment of Dr.MuyiwaGbadegesin as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) by Mr. BabajideSanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, with effect from 13th July 2023. The management and members of staff are to accord him our usual cooperation.”
Gbadegesin’s appointment follows the dismissal of the former Managing Director, Ibrahim Odumboni, by Governor Sanwo-Olu. Interestingly, Gbadegesin is not new to LAWMA, as he previously served as the MD/CEO before resigning on August 19, 2020, for personal reasons.
