Lagos residents protest delay of road construction

By Omotayo Edubi

Residents of Oko-Oba in Agege area of Lagos State have protested the delay of a road project which, they said, has lasted three years; a road initially scheduled for nine months completion.

According to the residents, the contract for the road was awarded in 2018 by the Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration.

Chairman of the Estate, Ayobade Obajimi, said the protest became necessary due to the contractor’s apparent nonchallant attitude to the project.

“We are appealing to the government to compel the contractor to complete the project”, he said.
