Lagos Govt Vows to Provide Potable Water Supply for Every Home

The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has made a solemn commitment to provide potable water supply to every home in the state.

Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani, the Managing Director of LWC, conveyed this message through the Executive Director, Operations, Engr. Helen Taiwo, during the just concluded Lagos Urban Water and Sanitation Hygiene (LUWASH) Wrap-up event held on Saturday.

Tijani expressed his satisfaction with the successful start of LUWASH, which brought together key stakeholders involved in the water project to discuss, assess, and actively participate in the program over the past weeks.

He emphasized the importance of encouraging and motivating people to work towards achieving tangible results, expressing his unwavering belief in the expertise of his team members in their respective fields.

“In this dispensation, leadership is crucial, and with the help of Almighty God, we are determined to lead the LWC to greater heights,” he asserted.

Tijani acknowledged that he has been approached by Lagosians regarding their water needs, and he reassured them that the LWC will do its utmost to meet those needs. He also expressed his genuine appreciation for the opportunity to work with everyone during his remaining time in office.

Furthermore, Tijani revealed that the LWC is actively brainstorming strategies to improve service delivery and revenue generation.

As part of these efforts, they are considering the re-introduction of the Performance Implementation Programme (PIP).

This program aims to accelerate the provision and delivery of water supply across the state while also boosting the corporation’s revenue generation.

The LWC’s commitment to providing potable water to every home in Lagos is commendable. With the strong leadership of Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani and the dedication of the LWC team, the corporation is poised to achieve its goal of improving water supply and ensuring a better future for the residents of Lagos state.

The potential reintroduction of the Performance Implementation Programme (PIP) demonstrates the LWC’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and financial sustainability.
