Lagos govt reacts to video of pupils in flooded school assembly ground

The Lagos State Government on Sunday reacted to a video that went viral over the weekend where pupils were seen in a flooded school assembly ground.

In the video, the pupils of a primary school ( most likely Ayetoro/ Makoko watersides) standing in knee-deep darkish water floating with cabbages, singing the Nigeria national anthem in readiness to attend classes.

According to a post on the Lagos State Ministry of Education Facebook page seen by tribune stated that:

“The school assembly viral on social media is a low cost private school in Makoko, Lagos State.

“The video was taken some months ago by a church that wanted to use the video to raise funds for the school.

“The building has been demolished and is being built.

“Lagos State authorities are sending officials there to ascertain level of progress.”
