Kwara receives over 12,000 bags of grains from FG

The Kwara State government has announced that it received 12,058 bags of grains of maize, millet, and sorghum from the Federal Government.

Breakdown of the 12,058, according to a statement signed by the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju, and published on the verified X handle of the state on Thursday, are 7,042 of 50kg bags of maize; 2,916 of 50kg.bags of millet; and 2,100 of 50kg bags of sorghum (which are still being received as at today).

The state government also announced the receipt of 8,700 of 25kg bags of rice from the federal government.

It said the distribution of the grains will be carried out by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari in line with the template provided by the Federal Government.

“The state government has constantly supported the Kwara public to cope with the inconveniences that trailed the removal of fuel subsidy”, the statement read in part.
