The 50 youths were gathered from the state’s three senatorial districts got the training which began on January 6th, 2025 and ended recently.
The commissioner said the youths acquired vital agribusiness skills and modern farming techniques that are crucial for the future of agriculture in the region.
The Soilless Farm Lab program is designed to teach innovative farming methods, including hydroponics and aeroponics, which allow for efficient and sustainable crop production without traditional soil farming.
Participants gained hands-on experience in various controlled farming systems, learning about greenhouse management and the numerous benefits of greenhouse farming.
This method not only enhances crop yields but also promotes sustainability by reducing the need for pesticides and optimizing water usage.

Through this partnership, participants will have access to essential equipment, mentorship from experienced farmers, and ongoing support to help them launch their agricultural ventures.
This approach is designed to empower the next generation of farmers in Kogi State and encourage innovation in the agricultural sector.
Ojomah highlighted the commitment of Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo to creating a conducive environment for farmers and agribusinesses.
He said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to establish Kogi State as a center of agricultural excellence.
By investing in youth training and development, the government aims to enhance food security and create sustainable job opportunities for the state’s young population.
