Katsina Pushes for Completion of 10mw Wind Farm

Katsina State government has stepped up efforts to complete
the 10MW Lambar Rimi Wind Farm to provide sustainable and eco-friendly electricity to the state.
Governor Dikko Radda of the state, accompanied by his Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed, recently visited the manufacturing plant of Vergnet Energy, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) responsible for the wind farm project.
During the visit, he held technical discussions with Vergnet Energy experts to assess the project’s progress and plan for its subsequent phases.
“The project has a critical role in providing Katsina State with reliable, sustainable, and eco-friendly electricity,” Governor Radda stated.
“Once operational, the wind farm will not only offer cost-effective energy but also support the state’s long-term energy security, while contributing to its broader economic and environmental objectives.”
The governor also revealed that he has engaged with the federal government to expedite the
project’s completion, highlighting its potential to “enhance socio-economic activities and foster robust economic growth across Katsina State.”
The Lambar Rimi Wind Farm is seen as a key component of Katsina State’s strategy to diversify its energy sources and reduce its reliance on traditional power generation methods.
The project aims to provide a reliable and clean energy supply, which is expected to boost economic development and improve the quality of life for residents.
The technical discussions included input from Katsina State’s technical team, represented by Engr. Abdulaziz Lawal Kuringafa and Engr. Sada Yakubu, as well as Haruna Abbagana, Lead Consultant to the Governor.
The Genesis Energy team, led by Mr. Akinwole Omoboriowo II, also participated in the meeting.
