The incident was discovered on Monday, prompting swift action by park officials.

Jos Wildlife Park, known for its conservation work and as a popular tourist spot, is now focused on ensuring public safety and promptly locating the escaped hyena.

The park’s management stresses the need for heightened public awareness and support during this critical time.

“Our team of game guards and park rangers, with the aid of drone technology, is actively pursuing the hyena,” stated the PSTC.

“We are dedicated to locating the animal quickly and safely returning it to its enclosure.”

Residents are urged to exercise caution and avoid approaching the hyena if spotted. Any immediate sightings should be reported to park authorities at 09026927620 or 09131000945.

“Your cooperation is vital, and we will keep you informed as the situation unfolds,” the PSTC assured.
