Borno State may soon witness a major transformation following a fresh commitment by business mogul Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi to attract investors into the state’s agriculture and livestock sectors

Indimi made the pledge in Maiduguri when Governor Babagana Zulum led a high-profile delegation to his Damboa Road residence to convey appreciation for the N2 billion he donated to the University of Maiduguri endowment fund.

Alhaji Indimi told the governor that Borno held comparative advantages in crop production, livestock development, and mineral resources that could be harnessed for industrial growth and export opportunities.

He said he had already been engaging with a network of investors across Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the United States and Canada who had expressed interest in the state’s agriculture, livestock, mining and tourism sectors.

Indimi explained that his interventions were driven by a deep sense of commitment to Borno and the need to unlock its vast economic potential that had remained underutilised.

He noted that Maiduguri had emerged as one of the safest and most stable cities in Nigeria, making it increasingly attractive to foreign business visitors and development partners.

He said he received guests from Switzerland only last week and was encouraged by what he described as the governor’s efforts in creating an investor-friendly environment in key economic sectors.

He assured Zulum that many investors were ready to seek formal approvals to begin operations in agriculture, livestock, mineral development, and tourism.

He said residents should expect to see more investors visit the Government House soon to pursue investment opportunities that would stimulate jobs for the youths and women.

Indimi also announced plans to support investments in education and healthcare, including interventions at the newly established Kashim Ibrahim University and the Borno State Teaching Hospital along the Maiduguri–Kano expressway.

Governor Zulum commended Alhaji Indimi for his long-standing contributions to education and development in Borno and across Nigeria.

He said the philanthropist’s support continued to inspire confidence and accelerate the state’s push for sustainable economic recovery.
